Centennial Trail – Thru-Hike (SD) – 2021

The 124 mile long trail begins in Wind Cave National Park just outside Hot Springs, South Dakota. It passes through Custer State Park then traverses through the Black Hills National Forest. Into Fort Meade BLM property and ending at Bear Butte State Park close to nearby Sturges.

Teton Crest Trail, Grand Teton National Park (WY) – 2020

This high alpine route technically begins in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness inside Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Starting at the Phillips Pass trailhead, hiking up to the Teton Crest Trail. Then completing the trek by the Lake Solitude Trail, over Paintbrush Divide and down the Paintbrush Canyon Trail to String Lake Trailhead makes this trip a 41.2 mile backpack.

Snowy Range High Lakes Loop (WY) – 2019

A 22-mile loop encircling innumerable beautiful alpine lakes. Hiking along Lakes Trail, Lost Glacier Lakes Trail, Sheep Lake Trail, Gap Lakes Trail to Medicine Bow Peak Trail summiting Medicine Bow Peak ending back at Lake Marie Trailhead.

Isle Royale National Park (MI) – 2016

A simple four-day trip around Rock Harbor. Hiking along the Rock Harbor Trail and Greenstone Ridge Trail visiting Mt. Ojibway Tower along the route.

Arizona Trail, Superstition Wilderness (AZ) – 2014

Rogers Trough Trailhead to Theodore Roosevelt Lake, 29.4 miles. This section of the Arizona Trail goes through the ruins of Reavis Ranch, into Cottonwood Canyon, passing Roosevelt Cemetery ending at Thompson Trailhead or cross over the bridge to Vinyard Trailhead.

Tanner/Beamer Route, Grand Canyon National Park (AZ) – 2014

This ‘out and back’ route is 37.2 miles. Beginning at Lipan Point, hike into the Canyon on the Tanner Trail. Across the Beamer Trail towards the Little Colorado confluence. Reverse direction and head back the same route.

Tanner/Escalante Route, Grand Canyon National Park (AZ) – 2013

A 41.1 mile trek into the heart of Grand Canyon National Park. Starting at Lipan Point, hike down on the Tanner Trail, across the Canyon floor on Escalante to the Tonto Trail, connecting to Grandview Trail and ending at Grandview Trailhead.

Wapack Trail (MA) – 2012

This 21 mile point to point stretches between North Pack Monadnock in NH and Mount Watatic in MA. It follows the Wapack Range.

Sliding Sands/Halemau’u Trail, Haleakala National Park (HI) – 2010

This point to point starts at the Sliding Sands trailhead and hiking down into the crater. Hiking across the bottom and up the Halemau’u Trail. This spectacular volcanic hike offered amazing views of the island of Maui. It also includes the largest selection of the endangered Silversword. The trek was 11.2 miles.

Grafton Loop Trail (ME) – 2009

A 38.6 mile loop trail, considered strenuous in the Mahoosuc Mountains of Maine. It encircles the Bear River Valley. Summiting numerous peaks along the way, including Baldpate Mountain, Sunday River Whitecap and Old Speck Mountain.
